Sufferings of war and service sculpture commissioned for war memorial

A sculpture to recognise the sufferings caused by war and service has been commissioned at the Australian War Memorial for those who have experienced and witnessed the ongoing trauma from serving in the military. Veterans’ Ambassador Glenn Kolomeitz told Sky News “this is an amazing initiative ... to firstly recognise trauma suffered by our troops and their families, not necessarily in combat, but after combat, so having returned home.” “It goes to the veteran suicide dilemma in this country and … it’s an amazing way to recognise our fallen and those circumstances and to give the families the opportunity to honour them and to grieve at our national memorial”.
