The mother of a three-year-old girl medically evacuated from Christmas Island to Perth has made a desperate plea for help from her daughter's hospital bed. Tharunicaa Murugappan has been receiving treatment for a suspected blood infection in Perth Children's Hospital since Monday after more than 10 days of sickness. She had been detained on Christmas Island with her 5-year-old sister and parents since August 2019. Cradling her daughter, Ms Murugappan thanked the Australian people for their support, expressing hope to return home.
