Victoria closes border to seven Sydney local government areas

Victoria has closed its border to seven Sydney local government areas which have been declared red zones by Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton. Anyone who has been in one of the red zones which include the City of Sydney Waverly, Woollahra, Bayside, Canada Bay, Inner West, and Randwick will not be permitted to enter Victoria. There is an exemption for Victorian residents who need to return home but they will be required to obtain a permit and undergo a full 14 days of quarantine at home or in a hotel. Victoria has also declared Wollongong an orange zone which means residents entering Victoria will have to be tested for COVID-19 and isolate until they receive a negative result.
